Veteran Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has made a candid public declaration about his personal life, telling fans that he has stopped impregnating women.
The singer made the statement in Benin City during the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends show, moments before he went on stage to perform. According to reports, the confession drew loud reactions from the audience, many of whom are well aware of the long running public scrutiny surrounding his relationships.
Addressing the crowd, 2Baba said he wanted to clear the air and correct widespread assumptions about him.
“But see, I get confession. I dey make this confession everywhere I go now to set the record straight. I don stop to dey do that kind of thing, I don stop to dey give belle anyhow. I swear, ask anybody now, they will tell you that I’m innocent,” the singer said.
The remark appeared to reference years of public conversations about his family life and multiple children with different women, a subject that has followed him throughout his career.
According to DAILY POST, 2Baba’s first baby mama is Sumbo Adeoye. The pair share two sons, Zion and Nino. Their relationship reportedly ended around 2009 after revelations of his involvement with other women.
He later had three children with Pero Adeniyi between 2006 and 2012. Over the years, these relationships became widely discussed in the media and on social platforms, often shaping public perception of the artist beyond his music.
2Baba was also married to actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, with whom he shares two daughters. Their relationship lasted from 2012 until their divorce in 2025, according to reports.
Most recently, the singer welcomed a new baby with his current partner, Natasha Osawaru. Their relationship and marriage have generated controversy and renewed attention on his private life.
Entertainment observers note that 2Baba’s statement reflects a broader trend of Nigerian celebrities addressing personal controversies directly in public, rather than through formal interviews or press releases. According to media analysts, such moments often serve both as personal clarifications and as attempts to reshape public narratives.
Meanwhile, fans online have continued to debate the confession, with reactions ranging from support to skepticism, underscoring how closely the artist’s personal life remains tied to his public image.
Despite the controversies, 2Baba remains one of Nigeria’s most influential musicians, with a career spanning decades. His latest remarks suggest a desire to move past old narratives, even as public interest in his personal life shows little sign of fading.
