Eyewitnesses said the pastor was riding a motorcycle along the Okeoffin–Okoro Gbedde route with a commercial rider when assailants intercepted them. A source told news outlets that the pastor “jumped off the motorcycle” upon seeing the kidnappers. The commercial rider managed to escape unharmed, while the pastor was taken to an unknown location.
As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers had not contacted the pastor’s family or the church, and no ransom demand had been made.
Four Residents Abducted in Odo-Ere

Community members reported hearing gunshots across parts of the town, prompting panic and forcing residents to stay indoors. The situation remains fluid, with unconfirmed reports suggesting additional victims may have been taken.
Rising Insecurity and Community Impact
The attacks underscore growing concerns over banditry in Kogi State, which has seen increasing violent incidents in recent months. Security experts warn that rapid response and community vigilance are crucial to prevent further abductions.
Dr. Samuel Adeyemi, a security analyst based in Abuja, said, “These attacks reflect the persistence and mobility of armed groups. Immediate coordination between local authorities and security agencies is essential to protect vulnerable communities.”
