Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face, has spoken publicly about the intense scrutiny surrounding his personal life, saying he is now more careful in his relationships and that recent tensions with his wife have been settled.
The music star addressed the issue while performing at a comedy show hosted by MC Edo Pikin, where he reacted to ongoing public conversations about his family structure and a recent marital disagreement that played out in the public space.
Responding to Public Criticism
According to reports, 2Face used the moment on stage to push back against claims that he is still reckless in his private life. Referring to long-standing criticism over having eight children with four women, the singer said that phase of his life is behind him.
“I don’t impregnate women anyhow now,” he told the audience, drawing laughter and applause. He added that the recent attention surrounding himself and his wife had already run its course, saying, “Natasha and I have given everyone two years’ worth of content.”
Marriage Back on Track
Meanwhile, the singer addressed the reported fallout with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, clarifying that the situation had been resolved. He assured fans that their marriage has returned to normal following the public disagreement that sparked widespread debate on social media.
2Face also suggested that public opinion about him has begun to change. According to him, many people now see him differently from the image that once defined his reputation.
“If you ask anybody now, they will tell you I’m innocent,” he said, playing on his real name while emphasizing that he believes he is being better understood.
Balancing Fame and Family
Entertainment analysts note that 2Face’s comments reflect the pressure faced by high-profile figures whose private lives often become public discourse. They also point out that his willingness to address sensitive topics openly may be an attempt to reset the narrative around his family life.
As one of Nigeria’s most influential musicians, 2Face has remained in the spotlight for decades, not only for his music but also for his personal choices. His latest remarks suggest a desire to draw a line under past controversies and refocus attention on stability and growth.
For now, the singer maintains that peace has been restored at home and that lessons have been learned.
